Internet researchers surfaced a 2014 NASA technical publication crediting an author named Henry Martinez. That same summer, Cole Tomas Allen completed a NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory undergraduate research fellowship building 'AI models for mapping planets.' In the summer of 2014, Cole Tomas Allen — then a Caltech mechanical engineering student — completed a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena. Twelve years later, on April 25, 2026, he tried to assassinate Donald Trump.
Online sleuths working backward from the @HenryMa79561893 X account surfaced a 2014 NASA technical publication crediting a contributor named Henry Martinez. The two Henry Martinezes — the JPL paper author and the Pepe-avatar X account — share a name and a year. They may share nothing else. "Henry Martinez" is one of the most common names in the United States.
For conspiracy theorists, the overlap closes a loop: NASA JPL 2014 → "Henry Martinez" listed on a paper → Cole Allen interns at JPL → 2023 X account named "Henry Martinez" tweets "Cole Allen" → 2026 shooting. Each link is real. The connections between them are not verified.
Pending. No journalist or agency has independently confirmed the JPL Henry Martinez and the X Henry Martinez are the same person. The coincidence is documented; the identification is not.
