Hours after the attack, actress Mia Farrow posted on Bluesky: 'He has lost a war he is unable to end and is now so desperate to raise his approval ratings, would he…?' — implying Trump staged the shooting himself. Her followers echoed 'I call bullshit,' 'false flag,' and 'all planned' as a Secret Service agent was being treated for a chest wound.

Within hours of the WHCD shooting, the false-flag theory had a celebrity face. Mia Farrow posted on Bluesky:
"He has lost a war he is unable to end & is now so desperate to raise his approval ratings, would he…?"
The ellipsis was the entire point. Followers filled it in for her: "false flag," "I call bullshit," "all planned." The thread aggregated quickly.
A Secret Service agent had been shot in the chest during the attempt. The agent survived because of body armor. The shooter, Cole Allen, had emailed a 1,052-word manifesto to his family before the attack. His brother had called Connecticut police about the email. None of those facts were on the table when Farrow's post landed — but they were on the table within 24 hours.
The "Trump staged it" theory tracks an established pattern around political-violence events: an event happens, a public figure floats a staging hypothesis, the hypothesis spreads ahead of evidence. After the July 2024 Butler shooting, similar theories briefly circulated. They were ultimately not borne out by the evidence chain.
Farrow has not retracted the post as of April 26, 2026. The Secret Service has not commented on celebrity reactions. Breitbart aggregated the response cluster.
