For eight years, Candace Owens has been one of the most recognizable faces of the MAGA coalition. She has defended Trump through impeachments, indictments, the January 6 attack, and two presidential campaigns. On April 7, 2026, she posted a public demand for his constitutional removal from office — and named the reason: Iran.

The Trigger

The trigger was Trump's Truth Social post threatening that "a whole civilization will die tonight." Owens read it, like Amnesty International, as a public statement of intent to commit mass civilian casualties. Her response was not to quietly disagree. It was to publicly call for the president's Cabinet and Vice President to remove him under the 25th Amendment.

The Response

Trump responded by calling Owens "a stupid person with a low IQ" and ranking her against French First Lady Brigitte Macron in a follow-up post. There was no defense of the Iran threat. There was no walking back the "civilization" line. There was only an insult directed at a former ally.
