Allen's email-format manifesto critiqued the Washington Hilton's security perimeter in writing before charging it: 'The security at the event is all outside, focused on protestors and current arrivals, because apparently no one thought about what happens if someone checks in the day before.' He had checked in the night before with a shotgun, two handguns, and knives.

Cole Allen's manifesto — the 1,052-word email he sent to his family roughly ten minutes before charging the Washington Hilton — reads like a written exploit disclosure. The most concrete passage is a security critique that already has Secret Service in damage control.
Allen wrote: "The security at the event is all outside, focused on protestors and current arrivals, because apparently no one thought about what happens if someone checks in the day before." That is exactly what he did. He booked a Hilton room Friday, stored his weapons inside, and walked the hallway Saturday night before sprinting the ballroom checkpoint from approximately 50 yards.
Allen elaborated: "I expected security cameras at every bend, bugged hotel rooms, armed agents every 10 feet, metal detectors out the wazoo. What I got is nothing. No damn security." He added a line that has since been screenshotted thousands of times: "If I was an Iranian agent, instead of an American citizen, I could have brought a damn Ma Deuce in here and no one would have noticed s***t." A "Ma Deuce" is the M2 .50-caliber machine gun.
Allen wasn't speculating. He was documenting his own dry run. The manifesto was timestamped before the attack, sent before the attack, and read after the attack. Every event-protection team in the country is reading this manifesto right now. The "checked in the day before" gap is not theoretical anymore — it is published exploit code.
