“John Barnett, a Boeing whistleblower, was found dead from a gunshot wound during his deposition against Boeing. Weeks later, Joshua Dean, another Boeing whistleblower, died suddenly at age 45 from a 'sudden severe infection.' Boeing had 32 active whistleblower complaints.”
In a span of weeks, two Boeing whistleblowers died under circumstances that strained credulity.
On March 12, 2024, Barnett was found dead in his truck from a gunshot wound during the middle of his multi-day deposition against Boeing. He had worked at Boeing for 32 years and was alleging systematic safety defects. Before his death, he told friends: "If anything happens to me, it wasn't suicide."
Weeks later, Joshua Dean — a 45-year-old Boeing auditor who had reported defective fuselage manufacturing — died suddenly from what was described as a "fast-spreading bacterial infection."
Al Jazeera revealed that Boeing was facing 32 active whistleblower complaints at the time. The pattern of whistleblowers dying while actively testifying against the company has no parallel in modern corporate history.
